Celery in Cream Sauce

Preparation time : 3-4 minutes
Cooking time : 20-22 minutes

Serves 3

Ingredients :

1 small celery heart
7 dessertspoons water
pinch each salt, sugar and monosodium glutamate
4 tablespoons top of milk
3/4 teaspoon cornflour

Method :

1. Cook the celery in slightly salted boiling water for 20 minutes.

2. Place 6 dessertspoons of water and the seasonings in a small pan and bring to the boil.

  • Add the milk
  • Add the cornflour
  • blended with the remaining water
  • boil for 11/2 minutes.

3. Drain the celery and gently press out the remaining moisture in a linen cloth.

4. Cut the celery into 6 pieces and arrange them in a heated serving dish.

5. Spoon the sauce over them.
