Ginger Beef

Serves 2-3

Ingredients :

1/2kg Fillet or rump steak, sliced with the grain into thin strips
Salt and pepper (to taste)
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
2 tablespoons of cornflour (cornstarch)
500ml sesame oil
25g Fresh root ginger (peeled and finely chopped)
2 tablespoon of chopped spring onions (scallions )

Method :

1. Put the beef stripes in a shallow bowl. Rub the beef stripes with salt, pepper, ginger and corn flour (cornstarch). Set aside for 10 minutes.

2. Heat the oil in a frying-pan. Add the root ginger and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes (or until they are cooked enough).

3. Transfer the ginger beef to a warmed serving dish and sprinkle over with spring onions(scallions).

4. Ready for serve.
