Prawns Shanghaiennes Style (Drunk Prawns)

Preparation time : 5 minutes

Serves 3-4

Ingredients :

12 prawn (shelled and deveined)
500ml water
2 clove garlic (crushed)
6 tbsp rice wine/wine
1 inch ginger (crushed)
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 stalk spring onion (chopped)
Salt (to taste)

Method :

1. Heat up a claypot, add in sesame oil and fry garlic and ginger till fragrant.

2. Pour in water and bring to a boil, add in prawn, sugar and salt, cook for 2 minutes. Then, add in rice wine and bring back to boil, remove heat.

3. Garnished with chopped spring onion, served with steamed rice.

Remark :

Replace it with other wine like brandy, or Benedict DOM, which is believed can boost up body energy.
